Sometimes the best ideas come from the most simple ones. My original plan was to do some type of breakfast burger with red-eye gravy and a fried egg. But when I saw our spicy peanut butter sauce sitting in the fridge, I knew I had to change direction.
This burger starts out as a six-ounce ground beef patty that I coated in my all-purpose rub and smoked for about thirty minutes over oak and hickory. We are serving it on a fresh Mancini’s kaiser roll topped with provolone cheese, our spicy peanut butter sauce, and a Thai-inspired coleslaw.
Of course, if spicy peanut butter on your burger isn’t exactly your idea of a good time, you could also order the smoked burger just about any other way you like.
